Jervis Bay Whale Watching
Jervis Bay is one of the best whale watching destinations in Australia competing with Hervey Bay for the top spot.
Just 2.5 hours south of Sydney Jervis Bay is widely regarded as the best whale watching destination in New South Wales. The reason it is such a popular whale watching destination is because the bay provides a natural shelter for the whales on their long return journey home. Mothers and their young calves rest and relax here before continuing the southerly portion of the humpback migration.
Perfectly situated on the southern NSW coast, Jervis Bay boasts a longer whale watching season than other destinations. The whale watching season starts in May with a consistent flow of animals passing through before returning prior to the end of November.
