We'd like to think that we give confidence to all visitors wishing to explore Fraser Island independently and that driving on beach conditions are remarkably straight forward (as long as we stick to the rules and regulations). Departure Details
Drivers
Clients wishing to drive on Fraser Island must be 21 years or older and hold a current and full drivers license.
All drivers must have held an open license for a minimum of two years.
Bond
A $1,500 credit card security deposit applies for drivers 25 and over.
A $2,500 credit card security deposit applies for drivers 21-24.
Insurance
Basic liability coverage provides a maximum excess of $5,000 - drivers 25 and over - multi-vehicle only - reducible to $1,500 by undertaking an additional Collision Damage Liability Waiver policy (CDLW) at $40 extra per day. The CDLW is mandatory for drivers 21-24 automatically reducing the maximum excess to $2,000.
There is no coverage in the event of a single vehicle accident. It is the hirer’s responsibility for single vehicle damage in full.
